Newshounds has this clip of Debra Haffner, a Unitarian minister and sex educator, being interviewed by Bill O’Reilly. The occasion was Barack Obama’s shocking notion that even kindergartners should be taught about sex.

I do not know about Mr. O’Reilly’s sex education – but he certainly could use some in manners.
To first exaggerate then attack the exaggeration as if SHE had just said it is, if nothing else, rude.
Bill O’Idiot is all about keeping the people stupid. He’s based his entire media career upon it, and it works wonders for him. I can’t help but feel sad for the people who are entertained by his garbage.

A lot of people echo the thought that the parents should be the ones who teach the children about sex. Unfortunately, most parents are afraid of the same words and concepts O Really wants the children to be afraid of. There is nothing more damaging than a fearful teacher, because the only thing that gets taught is the fear.
Children are so much more able to absorb “sophisticated” concepts than the O Reallys of the world give them credit for. Lessons learned in childhood stay with us the rest of our lives. Debra Haffner has the absolute right idea — teach them as young as possible, and when they grow up into healthy, responsible adults, they won’t need the O Reallys of the world to do the translating for them.
Hmm…maybe that’s the real reason he objects to proper sex education…he and his kind will be obsolete, and it scares them.
