Was born in Wingham, though my family moved there from Toronto before I was born, so the townies never did fully trust ‘em.
Alice Munro (a fellow Wingham native) labeled the locals ‘cross-eyed inbreds’ (IIRC). Can attest to the accuracy (both figurative and literal) of her semi-autobiographical recollections of what it was like growing up in Huron County hell (even accounting for the 50 year gap).

On a side note, I’m really surprised that no London FFs participated this year. Melonville is usually ground zero for ‘life affirming’ events like this.
