They like us, they really really like us!!! NOT

Birth Pangs has just received a fan letter from a abortion-criminalizing organization. Wait a minute … how can that be right?

Dear Bloggers, Thanks to your help and support, our first attempt at social media hit 15,000 views in just 3 weeks! Thank you so much for helping us expose Planned Parenthood and fight to save babies! Our latest video is on Planned Parenthood’s blasphemous assault on Christianity through the sale of “Choice on Earth” holiday cards.

Whoa! They just made a big fat mistake by sending us that screed. Here is more, from the press release:

“Planned Parenthood’s ‘Choice on Earth’ holiday cards are its latest assault on Christianity,” said Jim Sedlak, vice president of American life League. “By changing the word ‘peace’ to ‘choice’, Planned Parenthood is effectively implying that Mary should have considered aborting Jesus.”

Hey, Jim! Wake up and smell the eggnog. Birth Pangs blogged about Mary’s choice, here. And our point is that Mary was asked if she wanted to get pregnant with God’s baby and she said yes. This is what choice means.

But I digress. What else was in that email? This:

American Life League’s latest video report exposes Planned Parenthood’s continued assault on Christianity. The report goes from ‘Choice on Earth’ holiday cards to Planned Parenthood’s involvement in a 1973 comic book that depicts a sacrilegious rendition of Mad Magazine’s Alfred E. Newman posing as the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Ooookay. Conspiring with Mad Magazine to commit sacrilege … :???: There are public figures who have been portrayed in this manner and who have laughed at this event. As I recall the New Testament, it seems that Mary is remembered for her sense of humour. But then the fetus fetishizers like to think of satire as an assault upon their beliefs. Oh dear … we’re in BIG trouble, aren’t we?

“King Herod sent soldiers out to slaughter babies because he wanted to kill Jesus,” said Sedlak. “Two thousand years later, Planned Parenthood is still doing all it can to kill babies. That is what their motto ‘Choice on Earth’ really means.”

choice-on-earth.jpgUmm, not really. Babies who are brought into the world through birth after gestation, are not the same as embryo or fetus, still inside a pregnant women’s uterus. A gestating woman defines the reality of her pregnancy and its significance within her own life. Again, that is her choice.

But receiving that errant email was actually a bonus! Yes, the anti-choice fetus-fetishizers gave us a choice opportunity to use their propaganda for our blog. One of the abortion criminalizers said to another: “Why don’t they just go the extra mile and say, ‘Merry Choicemas’?”. Which we think is a terrific idea – and Holly Stick tweaked it further: Mary’s Choicemas.

komodomary.jpgLet’s not forget the world’s second most famous virgin pregnancy, last December. Should one assume that Flora chose pregnancy, since she somehow managed the whole shebang herself?
