That message — or something like it — is what a state senator in Maryland would require ‘Crisis Pregnancy Centres’ to post.
The Maryland state senate is considering a bill that would require so-called Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs) to issue a disclaimer stating that they are not required to provide accurate information. State Sen. Richard Madaleno Jr. proposed the bill following an investigative report by NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland on CPCs, which found that such centers provided factually incorrect information about abortion, were not open regarding their pro-life stance, and even lacked medical services in some cases.
(Your can download a pdf of the report at Pro-Choice Maryland.)
‘Factually incorrect’. Boy howdy. How about this?
One counsellor stated that if a woman with breast cancer in her family has an abortion, then she will definitely get cancer, which will kill her.
But this isn’t news. Back in 2006, a US federal government report
found that 87% of the centers studied misrepresented the medical facts on abortion, often grossly exaggerating the risks of the procedure.
And lest we go all Canucky-smug, remember that we have them here too. Like the one in Ottawa that the Senators’ wives and girlfriends tried to support. It was caught being a tad ‘economical’ with the truth also and support was withdrawn. We at Birth Pangs are still grinning over that one.

What expect them to tell the truth?
Hell that would kill their entire..oh!…nevermind
Factually incorrect?
Incorrect facts?
Isn’t that what Ken Epp uses to defend his Recriminalization of Abortion Bill? A series of incorrect facts?
Hey, wait a hold it!
Then those’d be lies. Imagine that! A Con, lying…
Well, if you are someone who truly beleives that the bible is just chock full’o'truth, and that the world be flat….It’s not a great stretch to demand that everyone else should open wide and swallow too.
Lies are all they have, its so hard to scare the populace and make them all compliant when you have to have…..facts….
Listen ladies, a lot of women facing crisis pregnancies do not want abortions. They may have problems supporting their children or other problems that would make parenthood a hardship. But that doesn’t mean that they want abortions. Face it ladies, abortion is not for everyone. Crisis Pregnancy Centers provide support for women who do NOT want to abort. They help the woman with the problems and obstacles these women face in raising their children.
If you are really pro-choice, you should be in favor of these centers for women who want to choose something other than abortion. Instead you want to scream liar about any information that makes abortion look less than glorious, and shut down all other alternatives to abortion. That doesn’t sound very pro-choice to me.
You listen, Ceecee. Or better yet, read.
Crisis Pregnancy Centers lie. They manipulate women. They misrepresent themselves.
Of course, we are in favour of support for women, which would include actual, real, facty facts. And all the facty facts.
But thanks for dropping by.
