Yo! Librul Boyos!

Well. Stalwart defender of women’s rights and eater of little pink hamburgers, Stéphane Dion, is being thrown under the bus stepping aside as Liberal leader.

We at Birth Pangs will get busy investigating the wannabees’ creds as far as women’s rights go, but right now we’d like to put the kibosh on point out some deficiencies of one rumoured candidate –former New Brunswick premier Frank McKenna.

From The Chronicle-Herald:

Like any politician with a track record, Mr. McKenna has baggage. His French is said to be awful. Some in Quebec still remember his awkward intervention in Meech Lake. His anti-abortion position as premier would not be acceptable to the party now. He has no useful experience dealing with the ethnic brokerage politics that is such a crucial part of Liberal leadership races now. And some of his business connections would make him easy to attack from the left.

Birth Pangs readers will remember that New Brunswick is Canada’s answer to Kansas. A place so benighted that the provincial government flouts the Canada Health Act and refuses to pay for abortions unless they are carried out in a hospital with the APPROVAL OF TWO DOCTORS. A place so uncaring about women’s rights that said provincial government is being sued by Dr Henry Morgentaler — he of the Order of Canada — to secure the same rights for New Brunswick women as for other Canadian women.

And Frank McKenna had a lot to do with what is the matter with New Brunswick.

Yo! Librul boyos! Listen up! McKenna is unacceptable to many, many, many Canadian women.

Just sayin’.

Egads, you have to watch where you step around the Liberal Party or you’re bound to be scraping some fetus fetishist off the bottom of your shoe.

The LPC needs to make a clean sweep of their dinosaurs — they are either a progressive party or they’re not.

To be fair to Frank McKenna, I would not classify him as a dinosaur.

More like some religious relic, as one can find moldering in a crypt somewhere.
