As a Reader of all the blogs I am mighty pissed there is no Best Feminist Blog, which indeed is a separate category from stupid Sexual/Gender Issues. That is insulting.
You can't lump LGBT into sexual/gender issues, that is an Insult as well.
In fact I think it's a human rights violation 
I'm only a reader, so you guys go and duke it out.

I think the reactions are hardly surprising.
The anti's are just being knee jerk and the faux progressives can't support anything without first consulting their poli sci text books.
Very few progressive bloggers ( as in term not aggregator) are actually democrats in the literal sense. And as such do not have the mindset nor the ability to clearly recognize the scope of the discussion.

To see why there’s a need for the category, just look at the nominees in gender issues, and compare, say, “slap upside the head” to “politics n poetry”. Both excellent blogs but they speak to totally different issues. Plus, people get one vote per category (I think?), which will mean choosing between a feminist blog and a GLBT blog. I’d like to vote for blogs in both categories. JMO.
